Atlantis
Atlantis is a legendary lost land, said by Plato to have been a wondrously rich and advanced civilization that was destroyed in a night and a day by a monstrous upheaval of natural forces. Many people believe the mythic empire actually existed, and search for its remains... others believe the answers regarding this lost continent will come from either alien or ghostly sources. All a moot point, of course, if Plato just made it up.
